Palm Pre 2 Activation

How are you guys activating your Palm Pre 2?

Do I have to purchase another AT&T plan with data?

I was going to try my iPhone 4 sim in the Pre, but I forgot it's a micro sim.

Can I use a Prepaid to activate?

If you got one from Palm, they are not network locked. Just insert _any_ SIM card that's legal, turn it on, then go into flight mode. After that you can safely remove the SIM (unless you want to use it as a phone, which I can recommend, since it's an awesome device),

If you buy a Pre 2 in a store, then the unlocked ones are very expensive.  If you want it cheap, then you'll have to go contract...

I received the Palm Pre 2 from HP Palm yesterday.

I used my brothers sim, then turned on flight mode, removed sim and now I'm ready to go.

Looks very nice, UI is smooth and fast. I think i'm going to buy a sim adapter so I can use my iPhone4 sim in the Pre.
