IDE feature, scroll text with the middle mouse button

Like the title says, would be nice.
I know this is not a good time to request IDE features...   :-[

It is unimportant as the same can be done in a million different ways.
But would be nice. :-[

Yes, this is one of those things I do subconsciously all the time but then realise the editor does not support it. It would be a nice small addition.
Cheers,

Ian.

Yes this will be nice... for me really I don't like, I never use in Firefox, but can be more quick move the text...

By text do you mean the code window?, only ask because I have the standard cheap microsoft mouse & the wheel scrolls the code in the window

Yep, the code/text window.
Scroll wheel works fine, but too slow to go around a huge code.

I meant pressing/holding the middle (wheel) button and mousing down, scrolling with different speeds, from slow to hurricane.

Like Bigsofty, I catch myself doing that every now and then. :P

Ahhh my fault, missed the keyword "Button" in the subject tile  :noggin:

Re-installing vista on my partners daughters laptop & the never ending update cycle has fried my brain at the moment (that & coding the mask problem yesterday  :D )

Ye, the mask stuff was really tough, I still am working my ways to understand it ;)
...but wait? Vista?

Yep bad old Vista. The laptop is nearly falling apart so no point wasting money on another OS only to get it free when she gets another.

And the way she's going with her behavior she may be waiting along while , also needs to learn to look after her gear so she may be waiting till she buys one herself for her 1st pay-cheque. She's only 12 at the moment  :D :D :D

I get the idea.

Are there anyways of kids to learn OS keeping other than friends and family?
There should be a subject at standard school on it :good:

I do have a hard time keeping my parents systems going :'(
Good thing dad knows a bit and is part associated somehow to microsoft, so we get OS for free :)

Quite good, a good original win7 costs quite a bit :(

Moru

Coders using mouse? What is the world coming to? Throw the mouse away, you can still save the world!

To find something fast, use bookmarks or ctrl+f. Scrolling is done with page up/down.
To work on two different parts of the same file, use split-screen (ok, so you do need mouse for this one) Drag down the top border of the file.

No seriously, try not to use the mouse too much. It really kills your wrists later in life if you are unlucky. Those ergonomic mouse-trappers and mouse-joysticks does not exist just for fun.

fuzzy70

I don't use the mouse that often, to the point that I even launch 90% of any program etc I want to run with the "Launchy" app. Would be lost without that one  :D :D

I use a wacom half the times too.
Switching back and forth from photoshop while putting finish touches on gfx or points on a tracker.
But mainly mouse :(

Somehow I guess I agree with you, Moru.

Never knew of crtl+f, now I know, will give a try. :good:

I´m too old school to even use more than one code file (read I don´t know how to use multiple code files).

It´s really an unimportant feature.

I'm just glad I was born in this generation with keyboards/mice/printers/etc & not forgetting my ultimate life saver the
:nw: :nw: :nw: :nw:"SPELLCHECKER"

Seriously my handwriting is nothing short of shocking & if I hold a pen for longer than 10 mins I either get cramp or my hand locks & in rare bad cases both.

Similar.

I was born in 1976 with computers home.
It is now extremely hard for me to draw letters. (but the poetics one <3)

Took a hand written test couple months ago, horrible experience. :puke:

It is hard for me to take things from my mind and translate to text, best to images!.
Heck, if that is required, I better learn assembler ;)
