After a bit of a break playing Battlefield and trying to get my old PlasWare stuff working on XP (I gave up with that and turned all the code into a book), I've come back to TSetup, and it's coming along nicely.

One thing I do need to do at some point is a proper font converter program with the ability to create both fixed with fonts, single variable width as well as multiple variable width with fixed step between sizes.

As writing an interpreter for the Animator type would be too much trouble, I'm changing it to a batch processor which would call a user-defined routine, passing it the relevant to manipulate.

I'm completely updating (and rewriting most of the code) my TSetup routine, to make it an almost all in one solution, for :

  • Handling screen resolution change
  • Displaying standard text, proportional text and sprites
  • Simple animations for text and sprites
  • Handling loading and reloading (on screen change) of all graphics


I'm re-writing most of my BallZ game to use (and thus test) the new TSetup system.

I'm enforcing a strict file layout for this version, which the various graphics, music and sound effects having specific directories.
