Has anyone here been through the Trademark Registration Process ?

® = REGISTERED trademark

This means you basically can establish a trademark through use. Or for example you've got the trademark "CatChat". If you register the domain catchat.com on March 13th 2008 and put your website on it using CatChatâ,,¢ then the domain registration is a kind of file record and you might be able to sue a company that starts CatChat on CatChat.net if it directly competes with you.
