C64 vs Spectrum (pictures)

This thread is not my machine was better than yours. Spectrum and C64 is quite very differrent and have both good and bad side of both machines. Its more simply more where you came from :-).

Recently me and Lobo (the graphics which did Jungool graphics for iOS, which today is free). We talked how Jungool might and could look for C64, even there would newer been a game. Im allready posted few pictures in the Erico's April fool. Im do might repost them here.

Here is how the Totem Rondo Jungool level could have looked alike (C64 Left, Spectrum Right).

Im really liked both pictures when im say them :-D

I like em both, but I think the Zx could do with more work here and there.
I also fancy porting modern visuals to old computer limitations.
I have done many mock ups, specially with the trs80 color.
I´d wish I could release the Avocado game with a set of look-like oldies gfx to go along as well as a little instructions on how to mod the gfx oneself.
But that has to come ´after´ the game is released.

I will dig some of the exemples I did and post here too later.

yes im pretty sure some of the color clash could been avoid, but its could also been a part of the style used as well, which me thinks is the case here. Im property sure its could been fine tuned.

But im still like them both.

Lobo do like C64 more than Spectrum me thinks.

This thread was not about who liked the machine most, but more a compare thread.

But I think your pallette is a little kind to the C-64

I'm not sure if it had a vibrant red - it was more like reddy-brown , no?

Even with a browny-red the screen does look better on C64.

Obviously the C64 version does look better, but both images look really very good

Yes even C64 does look better, im do like the color clashes on the Spectrum one here, its can been a art too.

They are both great, it just seems that the zx is more a conversion than a hand made stuff.
To hand made zx is quite time consuming. C64 gets away with a more shaded palette.

im got the spectrum version before c64. yes. its could have been cleaned more a bit in a actuelly game..... Which also would been required to for both pic (he need to been moved more to the left, but its a different story).

The original level for the iOS game was much bigger.
