GLOWING SKY FREE for WebOS has 6800 downloads (I want AdMod!!!! :'( :'( :'( :'( ) despiste it is buggy (fix sent to HP). Yesterday was 5000 downloads and 30 purchases (before the free around 20). But now it has increased to 68 purchases (a 10% return!).
If we compare with iOS, FREE has 900 downloads, and full has 8 purchases since FREE was out, 47 purchases in total. Also Free got 6 conversions using InApp (all of $.99)
So far, I earn $28 with full and $12 with free, although full has been out 2 1/2 months more than Free.
Since Aug 24, when free was released, it made $8 by iAD and $4 with InApp. In this time, FULL has done $4.
Oh, on Android, 4 days for Free and Full around 1 week more. Free got 142 downloads and FULL 8. Perhaps 2 purchases since FREE.
Magic Coin Box full/free has done 73/3700 downloads (16 since FREE was out), making a total of $56/$25 ($4 since FREE was out). FREE money just come from iADs.
Comments?
-In my next WebOS app I will set PIXI compatibility even knowing it will not work. I want all this users blaming me.
(ps: I know my apps are crap!)
you can compile pixi compatible. The "PALM_PIXI" platform also runs on pre and touchpad.
1.- The Pixi compilation does not runs on Pixi, as you (should) know as you have the source code of Glowing to check why it does not work.
2.- I want it not working on Pixi. They have downloaded it tons of times and blame it, and it has been positive :)
GLOWING SKY FREE for WebOS has reached 10.022 downloads today. Shame there is no AdMob. And will not. Google will drop AdMob for Webos next 30th.
Also AdMob for iOS and Android will be out in a short time, and should change to AdSense instead:
http://www.webosroundup.com/2011/09/exclusive-admob-to-stop-support-for-webos-on-sept-30-2011/
Woot! :enc: :enc: :enc:
HP sent me $161.80 for September.
Glowing Sky did 12000 downloads on September, and today it is 21200.
Nice! It has to be very gratifying to see that people like your creations.
12000 downloads and only 160 €, How much does it cost your app?
12000 FREE downloads, cenutrio.
123 sales. Plus other apps on Store and I think, some money from previous months.
You need AdMob
AdMob support for WebOS was dropped by Google a few days ago :'(
That sucks. Esp with that number of downloads. Is there any other alternative at all?
Reading the WebOS forums it looks increasingly gloomy with HP looking to be more assholey as time goes on. Turn it around though and as long as the app store works and you can still submit and get paid then it's a golden market to take advantage of :) Just got to get off my lazy arse...
Also can't wait for Preware and the OC kernals to update so I can patch the new 3.04 on my TP and get it back to being speedy again. The update is pretty good but still feels it needs the turbo injection that Preware can do for you.
Cheers
GLOWING SKY (free+paid) has reached 25000 downloads on WebOS market. Woot!
1500 on iOS and 2500 on Android.
Damm AdMob for WebOS...
Great news :)
Shame it's not possible to break it down into webOS formats (Pixi/Pre/Pre2/Pre3/TP).
Well, Pixi is another app, 2500 downloads. 22500 rest of WebOS.
It have reached 30.000 downloads on HP! :nana:
Way! Outstanding performance! Congrats! :booze:
When you made $1.000.000, please send me a postcard. Like a $100 note with a stamp XD.
Did I said that this 30.000 downloads are the free version? :'(
This looks fun!
And today I hit the 35000 downloads mark, although this month has been 9000 downloads and october was +13000.
iOs downloads are around 1300, but sales were around 2.5% of free downloads while on webos it is 1.5%. On Android 600 downloads and 3%.
Next week I will post more statistics with november.
Around 13000 downloads in december, making a total of 46000 FREE downloads.
awesome! Now if only this had ads. :(
Today I hit the 50000 free downloads mark, while iOS has been 1800 and Android 9800 users / 2100 devices.
What the hell are this Android numbers?
Total installs (users) VS Net installs (devices)? (sorrym my android market is in spanish)
More stats:
2011 (5 months for iOS, 4 for WebOS) has finished with a free/pay ratio on iOS of 3%, and WebOS 1.5%. Android, around 2.5%.
pays for the hardware then?
I think the Android numbers are downloads/current installs. So you have an idea of how many people would update to a new version.
The 55000 downloads post was lost, but today I can announce that I hit the 60.000 downloads mark on WebOS!
55000 in "normal" version and 5000 on Pixi one.
Woooohoooooo :enc: :enc: :enc: :enc: :enc: :enc:
WebOS market averages 1.50% ratio between FREE vs PAID, while Android is 0.50% and iOS drop from 3% on 2011 to 2.11% in 2012.
65.000!!!!!
if only those were sales...
Now - insert some "WAY COOL" feature with an in-app puchase. Unicorns. Pegasuses.
I am really tired... and after reading comments like "I hate the 10 secs start-screen delay", "I want more images to play with",... do they realize that it is a demo? Buy the full thing, you stupid!
Also in Dots-N-Lines there are comments like "It is cool, but only a few images to play!" (there is a button that says "buy the full version with 50 or 200 images")
Oh, and the best of all are the ones that says "it doesn't work, just crash after start". Do they thing I can read their minds? Why the hell dont they email me asking?
What you're expecting?
STUSERS (= stupid users) is the only real constant in a programmers life :)
I've come to the conclusion that the majority of users are total idiots. They expect you to know everything, give them everything and do it all for free.
They, in return, will either -
a) Not leave feedback
b) Leave negative feedback.
c) Complain that the app does not work
Bloody true :P
I couldn`t agree more. Im opting out of the "free" versions of my games in future. Anything else I do I will just up to the market and forget about. If it makes money, fine, otherwise its just a case of making it for my own pleasure and hope someone enjoys playing it too (with the bonus that they`ll pay me £1 for that pleasure). I will, howvere respond to personal email feedback, such as, "It does xxx on my phone can you fix it please", but other than that they can GTH. I dont see why I should spend hours/weeks/months of my life stressing over something trying to get it right when yo just get nobbers that post a message saying "its crap", "what a waste of a download, wont load on my phone",etc. Tell me what phone you have, tell me what happens when you try and load it, tell me something helpfull instead of being an ignorant tosser.
I totally agree Min. :)
GLOWING SKY has hit another milestone (at least for me):
Glowing Sky in WebOS market has reached 1000 sales, for a total of 524€ in a 10 months period (and 66300 downloads of the free version).
iOS has done 83 sales in the same period and 2600 free downloads, and Android, suprising me, 103 sales in 7 moths with 21000 downloads (3200 active installs).
Ratio Free vs Paid is 2.11% on iOS, 1.52% in WebOS and 0.52% in Android.
That is great news Ampos!
The iOS numbers are quite low compared to webOS, I wonder if in order to get things at least even we have to put something like 10 apps on the iOS store.
None the less this is all really great! Congratulations!
Great to hear Ampos. :) :good:
Cool! So, it paid for your hardware already?
Translated he wrote: something....something...something.....made around 500 euros....cool, so can't complain. :nw:
500€ in 10 months are 50€ per month... enough for :booze: but no more than that.
Let´s suppose one can make a good app every month, within an year, some 10 apps selling all around could cough up 500E per month, won´t pay for the full life either but would be a great start, specially on the second year of work.
I find those numbers quite good!
Could be, but GLOWING SKY has done 62€ in iOS and 61€ in Android in the same 10 months period... around 6€ per month.
Gasp! don´t discourage me! :P
Maybe having pc/mac/linux versions and having things spread to the already numerous app stores?
Get reviewed on Rock, Paper, Shotgun. ;-)
71500 free downloads and 1086 sals on global.
great! :good: ;)
Read the full thread. And yes, it is dor all my other apps.
Long time since my last report
iOS: 3910 free - 631 full (5-sept full was set as free, and jas been downloaded 479 times, so it was only 152 sales). 4'4% sales ratio.
WebOS: 82000 free & 1231 sales, 1'5% sales ratio
Android: 49292/8088 free & 238/91 sales. 0'48% sales ratio.
Today I have checked my Android stats, and they are funny:
133.000 downloads of Glowing Sky free, around 800 paid, average per month Google pays me 20€.
WebOS has not payed me for a long time... I think 0€ in 2013...
Coño Ampos Bienvenido hombre!!!, pues las cifras no están nada mal, aunque bueno economicamente, pero es algo que ya no mueves la aplicación, no?¿... Saludos y a ver si te vemos un poquillo más, hombre!!!
Great numbers Ampos! Super thanks for sharing! :good:
I wonder about webos thoug, is this the end of it?
Great to hear from you again ampos :)
QuoteI wonder about webos thoug, is this the end of it?
webOS is dead. AquaVenture has sold 35 copies since 25th April. I wasn't expecting high sales, but that's less than one a day. The community is dying and users have moved onto newer (not necessarily better) phones/tablets and operating systems.
The official webOS forums are ALL spam (mainly about kitchens!). They don't even have anyone moderating them now.
I won't be releasing anything for webOS from now on or updating/maintaining my webOS software. It's a real shame, but while HP *love*ed webOS up, the users didn't support the developers so they pretty much all left. With no developers or new apps the users left. Catch 22.
In webos currently, 97555 free downloads, 1379 paid, 1.40% free/paid.
My lasy HP payment was Nov 2012.
Some one knows were to email asking for my money? :D I have checked and I have paid downloads on WebOS Store :D
I don't think anyone's home... :(
Might be worth contact HP Head office - but I don't know whether they will help...
That is sad if they are not paying anymore...I had hopes I could finish and push my game to webos in time before everyone moves out. :(
edit: heck, webos sounds like a soo great and accessible platform I now am haunted by the ghost-of-free-release.
