Cool graphics, remind me a bit to Sim City , if you permet a counsil if you go to make more table games take a look to "Imperio Cobra" , it's a table game from the 80's about fantasy and warriors did in Spain.

Congrats for the game!!! and good luck in the market.

Post by: Omadan on 2015-Jan-04
Thanks a lot Ian. The guys over at Steam are pretty nasty lol. Not everything is going to be COD.
Anyway I just heard you need 5600 votes to get greenlit. Not happening I guess.

But I wont lose hope. Never.
Title: Re: My latest game. A property board game.
Post by: Ian Price on 2015-Jan-04
Why 5600? That's a strange number.

I've seen some of the Greenlight comments for other projects. Scary mental stuff!

ANyway, good luck - even if it doesn't get greenlit it still might draw attention to the game :)
Title: Re: My latest game. A property board game.
Post by: Omadan on 2015-Jan-04
Indeed, perhaps the 5600 is not even correct.
Anyways Ian, we can only try and keep on trying right ?
Besides, I program because I love it, just like we all do here.
If you get noticed it's just a big bonus.

Thanks again mate.

Just download straight from my website. http://www.toparcadeapps.com

Thanks Mr Plow.

I am actually working on more stuff for 6 Nights. I have many more ideas for it.

Thanks again.

Done Omadan, I watch the video and I liked a lot, the music the sounds the graphics obviously... really really Pro stuff.

The only point I think you need for more sells it's the languajes.

I think one of the best of your games it's this... I liked a lot the bunny jumping game .
Title: Re: My latest game. A property board game.
Post by: Omadan on 2015-Jan-09
Hehe thanks Mental, ye I have to agree with you. Adventures of Fluzz and this one (6 Nights) are probably my two best games methinks :)

I will keep on adding stuff to this one, because the more I play the more I enjoy it, and that normally does not happen because you know what happens with us devs. We end up not wanting to see our creations when complete lol.

Thanks guys

...

While I love the video you did, if you allow me a bit criticism, I thing you should show what you just said "the more I play the more I enjoy".
Not that I have an answer for such, but maybe having a bunch of people playing it over a tablet? Like an old school game commercial parody?
I know it sound strange or it may take a harder production pull, but I sinceriously think you have quite a gem here, there must be a way a video can show more of the magik. :)
Title: Re: My latest game. A property board game.
Post by: Omadan on 2015-Jan-10
Erico you are absolutely correct. The video could do much more in terms of the game. The thing is I struggle a bit with video production and coming up with the right ingredients is very hard. People playing and having fun all gathered around an iPad seems like fun. Might do that, thanks Erico. Please also note that the video was intended really for PC because Steam requested it. I hardly do videos for iOS.

Thanks guys.
Title: Re: My latest game. A property board game.
Post by: erico on 2015-Jan-10
Ok, it is just some idea. The video, as is, is fine and for me, having a video of the gameplay, is absolutely important. :good:

How is itch.io doing? I have faith in that.
Title: Re: My latest game. A property board game.

I had faith in itch.io too.

I am not going to lie Erico, no sales, not even one lol.
Could be the game genre?

I have even lowered price to $1.00 but nothing.

Title: Re: My latest game. A property board game.
Post by: erico on 2015-Mar-03
It is a very difficult genre to call attention into.
I believe the best you can do is to have it on many stores you can and produce more games.
People that get your other games will eventually look into your production and it may be easier to market it this way.

I think (IMHO that applies only to me) that the best way to go is to have somewhere around 5-10 nice games going before money pops out.

Keep it up, Desura is also a great place! Reaches more people, but it is more crowded :good:

Totally unexpected.

This morning I got an e-mail from Steam.

6 Nights has been greenlit. A total shocker, I was not even keeping track of it and lost hope hehe.

Now I have to negotiate the terms etc with them. Lets see how it goes.

Talking about websites...

I really want to change my website to make it look better and make you want to come again and again.

Please when you have time, check www.toparcadeapps.com and tell me how my website could be improved. I suck at web design :)

Thanks to all again.
Title: Re: My latest game. A property board game.
Post by: nabz32 on 2015-Mar-24
just read about this now,

Congratulations!
I know how picky the steam greenlight community can be in some cases.

Also good for the publicity of GLBasic :good:.

Btw, I think your website is good enough, the buttons are large enough for smart phones and
everything blends together nicely.

Edit: Read on Desura that you created 6 Nights using Blitz Max, wrong selection?
Title: Re: My latest game. A property board game.
Post by: Ian Price on 2015-Mar-24
Blitz Max doesn't export to iOS or Android, so it couldn't be Max. IIRC He stated elsewhere that it was done with GLBasic.

Great to hear that it's been Greenlit :)
Title: Re: My latest game. A property board game.
Post by: spacefractal on 2015-Mar-25
Look like Omaden need to been confirm here.

But since max can't export to mobile, but there do exist some c++ mods, but not easy to use (never checked those). It's stay here by now :-).
Title: Re: My latest game. A property board game.
Post by: Omadan on 2015-Mar-25
Hey guys, I had intentions on replying yesterday but very busy and had an early night :)

6 Nights was coded in GLBasic, I just put BlitzMax as a quick option as GLBasic was not an option on Desura, but worry not I will add it myself and update it.

So confirmed. 6 Nights 100% coded in GLBasic. :)

On this note, when you have a chance please visit my website and please give me some advice on how I could improve it.
Nabz mentioned it was good. Others? please?

Thanks guys.

Title: Re: My latest game. A property board game.
Post by: spacefractal on 2015-Mar-25
Can you ask them to add glbasic as a option or possible to add "others"?
Title: Re: My latest game. A property board game.
Post by: Omadan on 2015-Mar-25
Yes of course. I will update that today hopefully.

Make GLBasic known will be good.
Title: Re: My latest game. A property board game.
Post by: spacefractal on 2015-Mar-25
Also have you tried the 64bit xcode version for ios? Want to known others than me can find out and uses that.
Title: Re: My latest game. A property board game.
Post by: Omadan on 2015-Mar-25
Space I have not had time to look into that at the moment. I have been so busy with updating my app 'best board games' people are asking me for updates and game is becoming really popular. I am implementing so many new features and ideas, its insane :P

This was why I also asked about the tweet thing, but I could not make it work without browser :(
http://www.glbasic.com/forum/index.php?topic=10258.0

However, I will be really happy to look into the iOS 64 bit updates as soon as I am done with this :) and report back to you.

Title: Re: My latest game. A property board game.
Post by: spacefractal on 2015-Mar-25
im have tried it to been much "plug&play", so you only need to do few tweeks to the xcode after that (except if you have done various external m files of course). But you do property cant uses the previous xCode project, but better create a new one. This because there is insane many changes (icons alone is changed completly).
Title: Re: My latest game. A property board game.
Post by: erico on 2015-Mar-25
Some feedback on the home page:
First, it works and has the required info, which is the most important part.
Second, it lacks design, but who am I to judge? That is a very subjective area. People hitting the page are interested on the games itself, not the looks. So while it may help a bit, it is not essential. Better a non-designed page full of games against a pretty page with a couple games. ;)

Overall I like it.

EDIT: Great to hear Desura is doing good for the game! :)

This is GREAT news Omadan!!! Really pleased for you! And it will do GLBasic a world of good too!

I was at ThinkApp Event in Google HQ yesterday and I was talking to Google / Admob guys and other devs mentioning GLBasic - as expected they did not know of it.

I am also going to be involved at Google for Dev Panel discussion soon on apps so hope to plug it there too!

Great great work on the Steam Green Light!!!

On the website (I am also guilty and need to tidy up my own)

- But u want advice so here are some suggestions, contrast headings and main text fonts. (i'd had diff color for headings)
- keep whitespace equal (where possible) around all your text content
- I personally wouldnt center align main body text

Other than that it looks good and mobile friendly

:booze:

Or is it enough to have an uncompressed Media dieectory?
