I am trying to grab an sprite with transparency, but I have tried all combos of SETTRANSPARENCY (or no setting it) and nothing works.

The grabbed sprite always is drawn back with a black background.

Any hint?

Hi!

I have been a bit disconnected from GLBasic for the last 5-6 years, so excuse me if my question seems stupid.

What is HTML5 exactly? Perhaps the name "hmtl" confuses me... HMLT, as far as I know, is the language in which the web pages are done, and its like a ascii text with a .htm at the end.

My problem is that I need to do a little utility to be run in a web page (if you are interested, some thing like this: https://galleries.iws.imaxel.com/gallery/S4SNgM3TY2PMrZkPwjApZg/set/43tWzx8M5Dd1/home or https://mykiosk.io) and I wonder if it could be done in GLBasic html5 compiler. It has to run in iOS (safari...), Android (chrome?) and desktop.

I can do most of the programming, but I want to know if it can be done before wasting my time trying to program something that can not be done. (I have another questions, like ftp upload and image file requester, but this would be for later).

Hi! I need a bit help, if this can be done.

If you are used to Magic TG, you got a DCI ID. With this ID you can earn points playing Magic. To see your DCI points you enter at

http://www.wizards.com/Magic/PlaneswalkerPoints/

And enter your dci id

So the page http://www.wizards.com/Magic/PlaneswalkerPoints/2300205446 shows the points of player 2300205446. This info is not private but public.

I need a function

Score=get_dci(dci_id)

Where score is the seasonal score in this previous page. Anyone?

From the makers of LogMeIn, CUBBY it is coming.

It is similar to dropbox, but with a few differences:

-You can share any folder on your computer (but a cubby folder can be done too)

-Synchronization between computers folders can be done without using online storage.

www.cubby.com

Currently it is in beta and has 5gb of storage.

It works on Win, Macos, iOS and Android.

According to an article in L.A. Times, Apple / Appstore receives around 26,000 new apps per week.  :noggin: Although around a 30% are rejected, most of them are fixed and resent to Apple.

My latest app, DOTS-N-LINES demo has been approved. Once it runs, it download images and save them in "platform(appdta)"

Also, the non-demo version was sent, but it as not been approved:

We found that your app does not follow the iOS Data Storage Guidelines, which is required per the App Store Review Guidelines.

To check how much data your app is storing:

- Install and launch your app - Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage - If necessary, tap "Show all apps" - Check your app's storage

The iOS Data Storage Guidelines indicate that only content that the user creates using your app, e.g., documents, new files, edits, etc., may be stored in the /Documents directory - and backed up by iCloud.

Temporary files used by your app should only be stored in the /tmp directory; please remember to delete the files stored in this location when the user exits the app.

Data that can be recreated but must persist for proper functioning of your app - or because customers expect it to be available for offline use -should be marked with the "do not back up" attribute. For NSURL objects, add the NSURLIsExcludedFromBackupKey attribute to prevent the corresponding file from being backed up. For CFURLRef objects, use the corresponding kCFURLIsExcludedFromBackupKey attribute.

For more information, please see Technical Q&A 1719: How do I prevent files from being backed up to iCloud and iTunes?.

It is necessary to revise your app to meet the requirements of the iOS Data Storage Guidelines.

For discrete code-level questions, you may wish to consult with Apple Developer Technical Support. Please be sure to prepare any symbolicated crash logs, screenshots, or steps to reproduce the issues for when the DTS engineer follows up. For information on how to symbolicate and read a crash log, please see Tech Note TN2151 Understanding and Analyzing iPhone OS Application Crash Reports.

I'm planning to finish with my app-maker adventure.

Some real-life issues have demoralized me, and the very low success on this app thing is just another thing to add to the basket.

I don't need this for a life, and I love to program, but I also love another hobbies I have and had not touched for almost 2 years.

I had great expectations in my latest app, DOTS-N-LINES, but it has not suceed.

I will continue updating DOTS-N-LINES and DIGITAL PHOTO FRAME, but nothing new will come.

In September my Apple suscription will end, and I am almost sure I will not renew. Next month will begins my "very-busy· months at work, and will have almost no time to be on this.

I have make 1000€ in 16 months, and WebOS market has been doing great for me (750€ in 8 months), but it is not worth the effort, as WebOS should be dying (real) soon. The TouchPad with Android 4 is great!.

I am planning to release source code of some of my firsts apps, but they are so bad coded that I doubt they will help anybody...

But don't worry, you will see me here still for a time...

As you perhaps know, I have a few apps on sale. One of them has free version (limited) and full version, and has been there for a time, so we can have a few statistics. (Notice most of my apps sucks, and downloads are low, and also sales, but percents should be almost the same for everyone).

IOS: 2376 free vs 83 sales (38 (45%) were when free was not available): 3.49% ratio

WebOS: 59978 free vs 910 sales (19 without free): 1.58%

Android: 15541 free vs 95 sales: 0.61%. Only 3006 frees has it installed (19%) and 56 uninstalled the purchase, but Google has paid me 63 sales.

As you see, the free vs full is "big" on iOS, although it seems to be a lot saturated of apps, so it is hard to get noticed there. As seen by other apps by me, the bif hit is only on the few first days (1 or 2). Perhaps the ratio is good because it is almost obligatory to enter a VISA when creating an account.

WebOS seems to be a good market. With an average ratio between platforms, it looks great because the market has only "a few" apps; you dont need to be great to have sales. Also prices can be high on such platform: users knows his device is a minority and assume thet are more expensives (here we have a winning horse in GLB!).

Android... glad it is almost free to be a developer... or not. The pay vs free ratio is really low. There are many users that can download apps, but only a few can pay. Or are willing to. Also the 15 minutes refound policy of Google does not help us, developers.

Also Android seems to be the most easily pirateable of the platforms. I can get a "signed" apk of my computer and install it on any device, or at least, in the 2 I have...

Perhaps (not sure) this uninstalled paid apps are just users that knows how to "pay, download, install, save .apk, refound, uninstall by system, install the saved .apk"

And my app is not on pirate sites (does it sucks so much?).

Currently, there is 3 ways to protect an app on Android:

1.- Standar protection. The apk can only be installed on device's main memory. Not sure how strong is this protection, but I, as user, do not want apps on my phone memory but on the SD.

2.- Do not protect. The app can be installed on SD, but it is "unprotected"

The 1st protection is going to be obsolete in a short time (although the msg is there for at least 6 months!), and a new system will be ready (and it is working, yet).

3.- Licensing system: basically, our app will have to check validation with google servers. More or less: "Hey, I am app com.diniplay.glowingsky, running on device ID 123456 from user joe@gmail.com; does him buy me?" Google will answer us and it is our app who has to continue working or fails.

This system is working right now, but we don't have the code to use it within GLBasic. More info on http://developer.android.com/guide/publishing/licensing.html

I have installed Android ICS CM9 on my TouchPad, but GLB failed to install (it worked great on CM7)

What can I do for you, Gernot? Or you for me? :D

Code (glbasic) Select

Code (glbasic) Select

ENDTYPE

LOCAL pu[] AS pun

SORTARRAY pu[],0

PU[] has the following values:

Code (glbasic) Select
LENGH:19
0=0,0
1=303,1
2=695,2
3=872,3
4=907,4
5=971,5
6=929,6
7=903,7
8=884,8

14=385,14
15=323,15
16=253,16
17=78,17
18=0,18

Most of the times, SORTARRAY fails, closing the app.

It seems to be a random fail, as it does not fail always.

It is happening in TouchPad. Not tested yet in Pre2.

Meanwhile, I need a alternative sort function...
