At least bananas are cheap, and a whole type of different ones (apple-banana being the best).

WTF is apple-banana?!?

QuoteWTF is apple-banana?!?
I think the idea of "apple-banana" is obvious really. The question should really be "You can get apple-bananas?????". :)

 :D :D

It is one type of banana, usually bright white-yellow on the outside, smaller size (can be really small), thinner cover.
When ready to eat, it gets black on the outside really fast.

It has a great taste, more similar to an apple then the normal banana flavour.
It´s a bit more expensive.

Oooh. Nice. I suppose in the UK we would need to find specialist import shops for this sort of thing. Either that or that massive Tesco supermarket in Slough might have it! (they had the best beer in the world which no-one else does in the UK after I imported it from Cyprus for years...).

See this is why we need more experiments with genetic alterations. Ok so we might accidentally unleash some kind of zombie apocalypse, but I would risk it all for blackberry-banana-corn :)

hehe, it´s natural, it´s a Musa Nativa gender, it is actually native from the north of Australia.
But any bananas will grow anywhere around here.

Edit: ...but not a raspberry pi :(

doimus

Wow, Raspberry Pi is already proving its educational value. Just because of it I have now gained a level in banana understanding.

erico

 :D :D

but back on subject, let us know when you guys get the raspberry, I´m interested in knowing more about it.
Thought to get one to make a media box, but I suspect it can do soo much more.

That went well... Not...

They decided to defer purchasing to two sites, neither of which seemed to be prepared in any regard to web traffic or even allowing an order...

Looks like we'll have to wait until batch ordering is allowed.

However, the good news is that people outside the UK will be allowed to order...

bigsofty

Hehe, I kinda expected something like this would happen, 20000 units is a drop in the ocean compared to the amount of interest that has been shown for this little device. I think it will be a big deal long term.

I'll get one eventually, then the fun will begin.  :)

Looks like everyone will have to wait for the so-called mass production at the end of March/April...

OK, so I dont have a Rasp`PI yet, but I have been working on something for it ....
This is an exclusive, only 4 people know about this so shush. I only wrote it for my kids as well :)

Sorry its a bit choppy, thats the recording method used. it does run a lot smoother than that. But if I can get it finished before the Pandora competition deadline I may enter it ito that (minus sound of course)

No, it won´t work, Windows 8 will run on ARMv7 only, Raspberry Pi has an ARM11 core.

TBH why spoil a funky piece of hardware by infecting it with a Microsoft product  :D
